When you choose Skip as the method to use in your Rule, SureSync will skip all the files specified in your Rule for all the previous Rules in the Relation.
Please note
Since Rules are processed in order within a Relation, the placement of the skip Rule is very important. Each subsequent Rule adds restrictions to the previous Rules, so if you want a file skipped in every Rule in the Relation place the skip rule at the end. If you want a file skipped in most Rules, first put all the Rules that should skip that file, then the skip Rule, and then all the Rules where you don't want the file skipped.
One good use of the Skip rule is to make sure that SureSync ignores certain files during copying. We recommend that you skip the copying of ~*.tmp; ~*.doc (with a hidden flag); and swap files such as win386.swp or pagefile.sys.
Possible Scenarios
This synchronization method could be used when you want to perform a certain type of synchronization to every file in a root, except a certain type of file. Then you build your Relation with whatever Rules you wish to carry out on the majority of files and then a skip Rule last (specifying the files you want to leave out of the process).
